We have a name for our analytics start up — finally!

We had some fun moments (drinking + AI name generators) and many frustrating brainstorming sessions trying to find a new name for our new company. In my last article, Is Canelo a good name for a software company?, we touched on our many ups and downs. I’m sure fellow founders, you can sympathise.

Dablr is the new name!

My co-founder, Janice, came up with the concept and it works kinda like this:

  • Who are our customers?
  • Who are we really trying to help?
  • What is dablr all about?

Like us, dablr is for people who work with data, and want to be more insightful. In fact, dablr was built as an internal system by us to help us collaborate with our customers (we provide a hosted analytics service for large pension funds), and turbo-charge our communities of users as an outsourced/hybrid BI & insights team. We understand, and see on a daily basis, that working with data is tough for many of our users. Our customers are trying their best to use data on a daily basis, many have lofty ambitions, but most need a little help on how they can get the most out of their data.

I think we can all relate to this.

Many business users dabble with data, but most need some help to become data ninjas, let alone a business user who taps into data on a regular basis.

And that’s where dablr comes in. We make it easy for our customers to find and connect with dashboards and insights with an amazing, personalised digital experience. With dablr, teams can collaborate on the many tasks and processes we deal with day-to-day in our world of data and analytics. Think of an insights squad like this: a business user with great hypotheses, a data engineer, and a data analyst working together in one analytics collaboration platform, rather than frustrating ‘request — response’ cycles across silos.

Ultimately, dablr powers communities of data workers by bringing efficiencies to data teams, freeing us up, connecting us, and enabling us to bring insights to life.

And so we have created dablr, the first enterprise analytics portal, built for data workers by data workers.

So if you are data enthusiast like us, please have a look around our website, take a look, and join our waitlist to become a beta tester. We really appreciate your support, and look forward to building dablr around your needs as data professionals.

Stay tuned for more articles on the ups and downs of our start-up journey.
